Some Love

Biblical Basis: Romans 2:1; James 2:10; Mark 2:17

Possible Points: So many times we look at people and see what they have done instead of seeing what they are, people that God created. Jesus looked at people's hearts, as Christians we should be as open and accepting. We are not saying that homosexuality or abortion is right, actually we are saying that both of them are wrong, what we are saying is that it is not our job to condemn sinners, it is our job to love them.  Look at your own life and see who you think doesn't deserve the love of Christ and remember the prostitutes that came to Jesus.

Characters:
2 Christian boys
2 Christian girls
Lost boy
Lost Girl

Setting/Props: Two Christian boys froze stage left the girls stage right. Guys start talking and lost boy walks in.

B1: Hey, you see that guy over there.

B2: Yeah, what about him?

B1: You won’t believe this, but he’s a homosexual.

B2: You're kidding, what’s he doing here, in church?

B1: Man, it’s just sad. He’s just throwing his life away; can’t he see his sin?

B2: Yeah I know. Remember what the scripture says, "men with men committing acts and receiving in their own person the due penalty of their error."

B1: It’s just like Sodom and Gomorra.

B2: Hey, he’s coming over here.

Lost boy walks up and they stare at him with an uncertain gaze.

B1: Hello, nice to see you here.

Lost extends hand but they ignore it

B2: I hear you're a homosexual.

LB: Yes, I am a homosexual has a puzzled look on his face

B1: Let me say something to you. You have sinned against God. Don’t you know that it makes Him sick?

B2: Yeah, can’t you see you sin? How can you live this sort of life?

B1 & B2 freeze

LB: It’s the same thing. I know there is a God, but does He know me? Does He know I exist? I came here to find.... to find love. I have never known love. I have tried to find it in everything. The guys I have been with said they would love me. They said they would hold me and care for me. That was a lie. They never meant it. They never loved me. In front of their church it says, "Jesus loves you." Is that true? Or is it just another lie? Why do they keep telling me of my sin? Do they even care how I feel? God do you love me? I can’t see it. I can’t feel it. The people that call themselves yours, they don’t love me. They hate me. Please Lord show me your love because I am so.... so hungry for it.

Lost freezes with the boys, the girls unfreeze.

G1: Hey, you see that girl over there.

G2: Yeah, what about her

G1: You won’t believe this, she had an abortion.

G2: That’s terrible. She just threw her child’s life away. I mean can’t she see her sin.

G1: I know. I couldn’t live with myself knowing I was a murderer.

Lost girl walks in they are somewhat startled.

G2: Hello, glad to see you.

They take a step back from the LG.

LG.: Hello, I’m glad to be here.

G1: Aren't you that girl who had an abortion?

LG.: Yes... Yes I am visibly stunned

G2: How could you throw your child’s life away?

G1: God loved your child, why didn’t you?

Girls freeze

LG: How can they say that? How can they? Every time I wake up I know that I’ve done something wrong. I know I have made a mistake. I feel so guilty. I regret it all. How can I be set free? Can anyone forgive me for what I’ve done? They say God can forgive me, but they make it seem impossible. I am sorry so, so sorry. Is there no peace left for me in this world? Lord is there any peace any forgiveness, any freedom.

Lost Boy falls to his knees

LB: Their love is so empty, Lord hold me...please

Lost Girl falls to her knees

LG: The pain is too great, carry me please.

The first line of "Amazing Grace" is sung starting with the lost boy who slowly rises to his feet. The lost girl joins on "how sweet the sound" and also rises. The rest of the cast unfreezes and faces the audience and begins singing "that saved a wretch like me." All point to their heart on this line indicating that we are all sinners. They all finish the verse.
