I have been messing around with Photoshop since my early college days, but I have never played around with Actionscripts. Well yesterday I checked out timschmoyer.com and his "great links to check out" post. I stumbled on the Best 80 Photoshop Text Effects and that led me to the fun of actions. If you are a novice PS user like me you will want to check these things out. Many of those 80 require some time, but they led me to PanosFX.com and Indigo Productions both of which have free PS actions. Now this is where the real fun stuff is. Be sure to check out the photo cube from Panos and the neon light effect (open all night) from Indigo.
